Lord,

Our marriage is stretched as we tackle what’s before us. You know the projects and goals we’re working to achieve. We feel the weight of needs demanding our constant attention. As our relationship is tested, we need your help to pull together as a team.

We pray for strength to “make every effort to keep the unity of the Spirit through the bond of peace.” (Ephesians 4:3) Let us be persistent to communicate and understand each other’s point of view. Keep us from demanding our own way, ignoring one another’s insight and opinions. Teach us humility that is slow to speak and quick to listen.

Keep us close to you, seeking you in prayer for every step on our journey. Make us like-minded as we follow your leading. Shape our priorities and plans so they conform to your will in every way. Tell us when to say ‘yes’ or ‘no’ to the opportunities before us. Guide our days so we know when to lean in to work or pull back and rest.

Thank you for the teamwork of marriage. Help us to encourage, help, and cheer each other on. Make us more fruitful as partners than we could be alone. Deepen our gratitude for one another as we walk through life side by side.
